Great halal restaurant with unique decor. Got to meet the new owner Ala, great personality. We tried lamb soup, the mango drink had dates, raisins, and nuts in it. The curry sizzler had thick minced meat, great taste. Tip: Try their yummy Mint Margherita / Lemon drink, among other dishes.

I’ve been so excited to try this place out and I’m so glad I finally did! We ordered three large dishes in addition to starting with the lamb broth. Lamb Mandi, Chicken Mandi, and AAA Beef Kabsah. All of them are absolutely amazing. Some of the best I’ve ever tasted quite honestly. Our servers were two young ladies who were very informative and so great to deal with. Hats off to the service. The only criticism would be with the atmosphere. While waiting for your food, it’s hard not to notice that there’s a lack of atmosphere in the place. Or at least this particular night. The air is a bit still. There’s no music playing. The kitchen is too far away to hear any sizzle or liveliness. It’s just you and the conversations around you. I think some background music highlighting the region where the food comes from would be a huge addition. Regardless, it was an amazing meal and I’ll be back multiple times I’m certain.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here, it felt very homey. There were multiple families dining the night we came which added to the vibe. Our server was also sweet & attentive. First time trying Yemeni cuisine and we loved every dish! The drinks were great too. If we had to choose a favourite dish, I think it would be the charred liver. A bit sad that I didn't save enough room for dessert so I plan to try their areeka on our next visit.

I recently visited Yemeni Village Restaurant while on a business trip in Calgary, and it was the highlight of my dining experience during my 4-day stay. The food was absolutely delicious, and everything we ordered was fantastic. What made the experience even more memorable was the exceptional service provided by Somaya. She checked on us multiple times, ensuring everything was perfect, and suggested some great options that turned out to be spot-on. The hospitality and the food exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend this gem in Calgary! Thanks, Somaya, for making our meal so enjoyable!

Amazing experience at this restaurant!!! It’s beautiful, clean, and warm. The staff and soooo lovely and welcoming. They will cater to your needs. We asked for no oil on the bread and it was OUTSTANDING!!! A MUST try !!! So soft and better than most breads I have ever had!! I loved the thick texture with layers and so soft with a few crispy bits on the exterior. The pulled chicken was our fav!!!! Cannot wait to go back! The banana bread dessert was SO good! Very unique. Reminds me of a banana bread or banana crepes lol! Must try!! The steak dish was good, but it was better with the hot salsa! We will be back

Loved the food! So flavorful. First time having Yemeni food. The milk tea smelled wonderful and I had a second cup! Service was so great. Helped with suggestions. This is one I have to have again before I leave town.

this was our first time eating yemeni food. if all Yemeni food tastes this good, we will definitely be back for more! the plates are very generous in size and for great prices too! each dish is full of flavour and leaves you wanting more. delicious, highly recommend!!

This is the second time I visited this restaurant in Calgary! The lamb with rice is very delicious and the meat is moist. The liver dish and the fish dish are average. The freshly baked bread is generous in serving and tasted very good. We will be back again.
